Okay, so now you are really committed to this thing. You are on your way, and want to get your ducks in a row. Well, here's the place to begin.
Gear up
We recommend a one or two piece powder suit with room for layers, warm gloves or mittens, and a helmet or warm hat. Don't forget goggles and sunglasses. We strongly suggest that you take your ski boots on the plane as carry on luggage. We have specialized powder skis available for guest use. These skis make skiing powder snow and especially adverse snow conditions, easier and more enjoyable. Skis must be equipped with ski brakes; safety straps are not allowed. We suggest that you bring a fanny pack or small pack to carry extra gloves, sweater, etc. Nothing may be left in the helicopter while you are skiing.
Ski experience
We welcome first time heli-skiers and suggest that you be a parallel skier comfortable with skiing most of the black diamond runs at a major ski area. The guides make every effort to choose runs that will suit your ability and interests and will provide instruction for those who wish it. Boarders should
be very comfortable boarding on open slopes and in the trees.
Get fit
Heli-skiing and heli boarding is most enjoyable when you are fit. Plan to start a fitness program that includes stretching and aerobic exercises 8 to 10 weeks prior to your arrival.
